P0156 Downstream Heated Oxygen Sensor circuit fault - Bank No. 2.


This is not a lean code. This is a CAT code, or more likely for bad downstream sensor wiring.

The DPFE is a fluke and should not trigger this code or a lean code unless fresh air is getting into the EGR system.

checking your code po156=ho2s sensor circuit malfunction (ho2s-22 meaning downstream o2 and pcm connector pin 61). recheck the sensors or for exhaust leaks since our engine is mounted sideways what side is front of engine? your downstream sensor affected is on engine side opposite of cylinder 1 side. cylinder, upstream02(ho2s-21), precat, downstream 02. this is as much info as i can piece together for u

what side is bank 2. firewall side or other side?

cd manual says to check for
-pinched, shorted, or corroded wiring and pins
-crossed sensor wires
-exhaust leaks
-contaminated or damaged sensor

Bank 1 is firewall side.
Bank 2 is radiator side.

So i need to check the wiring? This is seriously getting frustrating.

I checked the wiring and there is nothing that I can see wrong with it. I cleaned the connector again and reset the computer. I have noticed that you can reset the computer and drive 5 miles or 200 and the light will not come back on till you turn off the engine and restart it. what could be causing this P0156. I have messed with this so much im hallucinating. I thought the carebears took off with my waterpump belt when I was working on it!! Just kidding.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
