vaccinations for anything, are milder versions of the full virus, in this case the flu, so that your immune system has a chance to build an antibody against whatever virus you may be trying to fight, hence why we get them in advance, so yes it is possible that you can get sick from the shot itself, actually very common, but getting the full flu from the shot is extrememly unlikely unless you have a problem with your immune system.....

to comment on the flu being worse this year than before, i would totally agree....

i work in a pharmacy and am studying to be a pharmacist, and this year has been more hectic than ever before, there is a shortage in the vaccine, there is a shortage in the one medicine that is rated to treat flu that has already set in....my pharmacy has actually set record days in the amount of prescriptions we fill in one day, three times within the last 2 weeks, everyday we run out another antibiotic or cough syrup.....

the best thing i can tell everybody, i know exams are coming up and what not, but pace yourselves, you still need plenty of rest, and plenty of proper nutrition, cause just because you get the vaccine, doesnt mean you wont get sick, take care of yourselves out there, i have seen a couple of very bad cases so far this winter....take care everyone....
