This crud stuff is running rampant in our area. Luckily I haven't caught anything yet but my buddy has been in ICU since Thanksgiving with what started out as flu and became pneumonia, dude almost died from septic shock and he's still not in the greatest shape. Packrat get a flu shot man even if it does make you a little sick it can save you a whole lot worse stuff happening.

#1. I hardly ever get the flu, despite how "bad" the media portrays the outbreaks to be.

1# your comment is from your point of view only, look at the larger picture, a lot more people have died from the flu this year than previous years..
2# not everybody has a strong immune system ..
i wouldnt downplay this, i dont think its all just media hype. statistically, after a few mild seasons, it usually gets worse.
so buckle up.

I am with packrat. I rarely get the full onslaught of the flu and have only puked a handful of times in my 18 years. I was blessed with a strong immune system so well see how she takes it. I have had 3 mild cases of it so far, I know it was mild because the rest of my family came down with it bad several days after I had it. Like I said i have a stong immune system so I will prefer to make antibodies the old fashioned way.

eh, ive rarely had the flu and i got it this season...it just depends on whether or not youre exposed to others who might give it to you. i dont think immune system has THAT much to do with it, unless you have aids or something or dont take care of yourself at all...

I got flu shot last monday. Caught something starting tuesday night and I'm still coughing a little,, not the flu but something caught while my system was weakened fighting the vaccine,, it was cool though, missed a day of school,,, well didn't actually miss it.  Either way, flu shots are a good idea, whether you have a history of catching the flu or not.

I've had the flu or something equally serious in previous years, sometimes two or three times a year.
Haven't been sick this year yet. Possibly due to moving out of the city.
But I think I'll get one this time anyways.

Best cold/flu cure/medicine I have ever found is Theraflu. That stuff works far better than anything I have ever taken. Tkaes care of the body aches, helps you sleep (if you get the nighttime formula) and knocks a cold out in a day or 2 and it doesn't taste hideous, it's lemon flavored. I highly recommend the stuff to anyone who catches a cold.

i wanted to get a flu shot this year (but i always thought they were only for old people and high risk groups, but now everyone is crazy about them) but i hear they are running out nation wide! a lot a good that will do. i mean WTF.

Besides, I didn't tell anybody NOT to get a flu shot, I expressed the reason why I'm NOT getting a flu shot and yes, I DO believe the media hypes the situation somewhat, they always do.
