I took my intake apart this weekend to clean the MAF. I noticed there was oil collecting in the "accordian" part of the intake. The oil was fairly clean looking. Also, there was a small amount in the bottom of the MAF collection tube. Is this normal? I couldn't see where it would be coming from except the valve cover vent tube. Any ideas?

PCV valve new or old?

Sorry, forgot to mention the car is stock. So the intake is stock down to the SVT air box. The PCV valve is original but the car only has 38K on it.

never hurst to replace it. That may help quite a bit. I'd wipe up the old oil & clean the MAF, put a new PCV valve in and drive for a week and see what happens.

I find it there pretty well every time I take it apart. I've owned the car since day 1 and it's always been that way, even when there was a new PCV valve. The oil comes from the rocker cover breather tubes-I'm certain of that.

And test the PCV system.
Either you have too much blowby, or the PCV system is not working.
