So I was bored off my ass last weekend and here is what I came up with.

The rack was made out of leftover 3/4 MDF and some slides I found at Home Depot. Pretty Simple install except for removing the rear deck lid, what a pain in the ass.

Here is the Shiva 12. I've got the voice coils in parallel (duh) so that makes about 600 Watts from my amp. This set up is Sh it Hot. Amazingly enoug I have no trunk rattle. Guess it'll start once things start vibrating undone. Oh well

I'm about to search on how to post pics, but in the mean time the link at the bottom of the first post should show you what I got.

Ispinout, it's not motorized but I did think about buying a little motor or servo to open and close the shelf, just for sh its and giggles.

Dnewma04, yeah you sold me on the Shiva, did they get your commission yet?

Time for bed

You can't post pics hosted on yahoo.

That's a cool amp rack! Can you get a pic of it completely closed? I wanna see how stealthy it is, just out of curiousity.

I like that alot! Question for you, when you carpeted the sub box how did you so about it? from what it looks like you carpeted each piece before assembly? Just a guess.

Amp rack looks very stealth too, how did you attach it to the rear deck...just bolt through to the top of the deck or did you conceal the bolts at all?

Very nice work and very clean install, that's my kind of setup....clean, stealty, and not overdone laugh

One more thing, noticed you removed the rear deck lid? How did you go about that?

Perry,
I have some more pics at home and I'll try to post them tonite

Krafty,
The box came carpeted and yes Dave, it's a subzone box. Very high quality.
I did carpet the rack though. It's pretty simple. Just cut out the fabric, brush contact cement to the box and the carpet and let dry till tacky they put the carpet on. That simple, even a monkey can do it.

The rear deck lid is another question. It's not that it's so difficult but you have to be careful not to bend or rip it. Just put the seats down, crawl into the trunk, pull all the plastic plugs out, pull the middle seatbelt cover off, and then work the deck lid up and over the back seat.

Then I just measured and drilled some holes. I dropped three (i think 4 inch) wood screws with a wide head (hehe) and screwed the shelf hangers to the deck lid.
