well first of all if you are trying to get a piece of plexi glass for your sub to hold in place for the box that is basically the worst idea you can do...why is this? well with using "plexi glass" instead of "MDF wood" tell me this...you want to use plexi glass for a great effect so when you open your trunk people look and say ahhh!! well the bad news is...good lucky trying to seal it and make it look good...the problem is plexi glass does not form...the MDF wood is a very solid wood that can stand solid hits from the subs and seal very nicely..so if you decied to go with plexi glass remember you are losing the sound you would get with mdf...

That is why you go with really thick plexiglass, not the 1/8 of an inch that you find at homedepot, but i think i already have it figured to make it with plexiglass and wood and still have the window to see inside without makeing the subs sound like ass.
thanks for the help---chris

i used 3/4 inch on an enclosure - with 2 JL AUDIO 10's - works great-- purchased piece like 4'x3' for $80.00 well worth it - smile

another option is to make either 'windows' or only 1 side out of plexi, and then cover all the MDF interior sides of the box in mirrors. Some people will try to argue that the mirrors will crack, but if you lay enough adhesive on the back to the point where you are sure they won't vibrate with bass, you can have an excellent effect and be able to check out the back of teh sub from all angles.

they make mirrored plexi for that purpose -- to be installed inside the mdf
