Seriously, I too would love to hear the pinnacles of racing technology that NASCAR has risen to. I need a good laugh.

Seriously, what kind of RWD racing car has the same size tires in front and in back? And steel wheels?!?!?

I don't have a specific list of what they have, but... A lotta time and tech is put into a NASCAR's car body for aerodynamics and what not. The V8s they use are more technologically advanced that just about any other v8. Pushing over 500hp for hours, I guess that is early 900s technology though. They use data logging, etc. They use computer models to make better working cars, etc. They have a separate car for just about any track condition,,, but I guess those separates cars are really the same since they don't have any technology. NASCAR uses what works for them. You don't need the same technology in NASCAR as in F1. I'm sure there is plenty more somebody more knowledgable could add. Sure they don't have the same technology as other types of motorsports (some have more, some have less), but they have A LOT of technology. Just because it's not the same as a F1 car or you just don't realize it's there,,, it's still there.

Dude, you gotta look up Jack Roush's interview on Road & Track discussing NASCAR issues. He's a team owner and engine builder, and even he rags on the cars in the interview.

I'll freely admit that I like NASCAR about as much as a festering rash on my a$$, but that doesn't change the fact that the amount and application of technology as compared to F1 or the like is LOW on the list.

I just don't see much innovation out of NASCAR. F1? Absolutely.

Hell we've all seen the guys that drive these cars so I ask: How much technology can you possibly use before Bubba gets confused and quits driving and goes back to the John Deere Tractor Cup Series?

Figures

Which itself is just steel and as aerodynamic as a brick. Plus the regulations restrict innovation so the teams spend days in a wind tunnel massaging 1/32 on a body panel.

For you own sake, take that back.

How about 700 for 24 hours?

Only in testing, banned during racing.

I used a computer model to design my bathroom.

You mean the separate cars that have miniscule differences in ride height, fender shape, brake designs, and clunky aluminium plates between the carburetor and intake?

The talking point was that you said there is lots of technology in NASCAR, not whether the racing is enjoyable.

They have a lot of technology when compared to a bicycle. (surely they're more techy than a bicycle? )

I can't stand NASCAR or Whinston Cup. None are the cars are different. It has become so regulated that it's truely based on a drivers ability to draft someone and get lucky. I suppose some people could say it's skill, but it's boring to watch cars drive in an Oval for serveral hours. The cars are fricking cookie cutter cars. F1 has similar designs but they are tracks that are interesting. I like to see road racing where some skill is involved above passing someone in an oval. But the other sorts or racing a more fun. Pretty much all the classes that run at LeMans are what I like. Plus it's cool to see a highly modified version of a car that I can acctually see on the street race on a road course. There is by far too little coverage of road racing and way too much of NASCAR!
