Likely wear and tear on your synchros.

that what I thought, can you replace synchros yourself or do you have to go to trannyshop. I really want to do this myself to save money. Is it possible, where would I buy new synchros?

1. Of course you can. It just requires a little powertrain R&R and then disassembling the MTX-75

2. You will need a pretty fair selection of tools (and not just common hand tools), the factory service CD's, and at the minimum an empty garage bay.

3. OEM parts. Call Bill Jenkins for a fair price on the parts. You might as well get the revised shifter forks ($50) too
Also no better time to install an LSD to replace the hardened glass differential...

So its only "like" really short and "like" hard to get in gear?

I guess that means it isn't really short or hard to get in gear, only "like" it.

I had the same problem until the linkage either broke off, or the shift tower plastic cylinders are very worn (i hope) if not its gonna be that stupid bolt that broke inside the tranny case(common problem i guess)the last time that cost me about $750.00 to fix (just for a freaking bolt!!!!!!!!and a new slave cylinder) if its the same problem im gonna do the clutch at the same time, id try to do it myself but i dont have the time, they quoted me $850.00 for a new clutch, labor, fix shift tower problem (if thats the problem too) i called several places and thats the least expensive i found, he said its about a 8.5 hour job. Id like to do a quaife and better synchros etc.. i just dont want to spend the extra moola.
