Yes the GMK intake. I've been talking to Kenneth(GMK) about marketing this for a couple months now. We were going to make a kit fully compatible with the Contour. Its a quality product and an original design. It will be dynoed soona and many Cougars swear by it.

How soon are we looking at a complete kit coming out, and any approximate prices? BTW this is awesome...

I would still rather have a short ram with a heatshield. Only purpose is to be able to say " I have a CAI!". You win some, you lose some. Then you can look cool with all of the Civics.

The question I asked over there is what's the difference between the GMK kit and the rival Titan kit? Other than the optional CF, I mean. And from the looks of it, I think it would be real hard to install it in an ATX Contour, I've got a thick bundle of wires running out of the fuse box right where he has the pipes run in the Cougar.

the Titan has an extra piece of pipe, really thats the only difference...and they were offering it for cheaper which brought the price down on the GMK...

you will have to cut a 3 inch hole for the intake, but after looking at some pics of people who've done it...it looks real easy. And coming from me, that means its real simple...

Also, with the GMK, they have apparently been installed on MTX's and ATX's without battery relocation, although it is recommended.

Not sure why there is an extra air breather tube on the intake but I think they give u a mini filter or something to plug that, not sure...

the thing about the GMK though is that he is creating them for each short ram setup...meaning not everyone is the same and is specific to injen, cta, etc.

And last, I'd have to disagree about the CAI not needed comment...of course there is pimp factor involved but the fact is that even though a nice heat shield will work, the filter is still in the engine bay which is no good. Get it out in the open if u want some real gains...

Man I'm talkin like I created this damn thing, who am I trying to sell? But err yeah, just thought u guys might be interested...enjoy

If all you're worried about is getting the filter out from under the hood, cut a hole in your fender. all i'm saying is CAIs aren't better than a short ram, you win some, you lose some. not much of an overall gain.

~I think an advantage to this particular product is its remote location from the engine. My car suffers really bad from heat soak, I easily loose 10+hp sitting in traffic, I can feel it. At least with this lower bumper mounting, it wont pull in so much hot air, and will probably give you more 'useable' power increases over a standard induction kit. Cant wait to see the dyno runs, and we will all learn something from that.

I don't think heat sheilds do anything other then restrict the air available to the engine. Why not just use an air box, because that is really what you a recreating. Now for a true CAI you need to get it low enough or far enough away from the heat source(the engine duh..). This seems to be a good option to the people with ATX's. I have a true CAI on the 95 SE MTX and I don't see any thing better here. But it looks good and is prolly better for those of you who don't want a K&N filter sticking out of the bottom of your car. You can see the 3580 sticking out of the car from the front

You obviously don't know the advantages of a true CAI.
DDavis got an 11whp gain on his ZETEC with a true, tuned CAI. That's 11hp on a 130hp engine.... hmmm yeah, not worth it at all.
