my car started fine before i went to change my alternator. when i was finished and went to start my car it wouldnt start. after testing the coil pack wires none of them have power. why is this??? could it b becasue i reset the pcm by disconnecting the neg batt cable? HELP!!
by the way its a 98 duratec mtx

isn't there a mega fuse on the side of the coil pack??

dont believe so, only for the battery cable from the alternator to the battery

Well...There is a ground wire that connects to one of the coil pack corners in my SE. But you probably already connected that.
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

Power to the coil is provided by Fuse F4 (20A) in the BJB.
Check that one.
Make sure that you are checking for voltage on the DC connections with the ignition set to RUN, not on the outputs for the plug wires. The plug wire terminals will not have any DC voltage on them at any time.

yea i know its already been checked. fuse is good. i checked voltage on the coil pack plug n got nothin....

There are a few connectors on the left side of the engine near the power steering reservior--two 12-terminal and one 6-terminal connector. Make sure those are connected, as the coil pack is wired through those. (These are the connectors that join the fuel injection harness to the computer harness).

Have you checked for voltage at the terminals in the BJB for F4? With the fuse removed, one of the terminals should have power while the ignition switch is in RUN.
If no power is there, you have to trace that circuit back using the schematics and a meter.
