someone i know has a bronco 2, head gasket went in it. he said i could have it if i want, new tires and trans and several other things. i can do the work myself, should i take it?

yes its free, and its also 4x4

does anyone have experience working on these?

is it difficult to change the head gasket? can it be done with the engine in the car?

i know it cant be as bad as working on the tour

It depends on what kind of engine that it has. The 4 cylinders are pretty easy to change. The v6 engine will take more time. You will need to check to see if the head is cracked or warped. Often people think that the head gasket is bad but really the engineā??s cylinder head has cracked and is leaking. It can be expensive. You can always part it out if the repairs are too expensive.
