I am getting quite eager waiting for JL to ship the damn w7's! I am planning on two 12w7's, each powered by a jbl bp1200 amp (1200w @ 2 ohms, 1 ohm stable) and some other amp to drive some hefty fronts. All in all probably in the range of 3000 watts rms. I will have to get a nice big optima battery of course Are there any bolt in alternators for our cars that make some extra amperage?? (duratec v6)

First you'd be surprised that stock alts would proably handle the job fine...BUT i would still at least do the first option: 1) Well for one if you dont mind being out a car a day, you can get your alternator rewound and Im sure that would perfect fro your needs. 2) But if you want on a new alternator or dont want to give up the car heres a place:http://www.mralternator.com/

I'll also add that with that kind of power, you will want multiple batteries.

feel free to share the info for the others, but I'm totally in love with the w7's. This is gonna be a "show and shine" install and the W7's are totally badass looking as well as high performing..

Well, I'll offer two alternatives, one that is pretty and one that is debatable. www.stryke.com : The HE15 has close to an inch of xmax and 3 inch point to point excursion. Plus, it has a VERY conservatively rated power handling of 1000 watts. During testing, it took well over 3000 watts and about a half an hour to change it's parameters by 10%. www.blueprintdrivers.com : If you are competing SPL, it would be very difficult to beat to BP1803s with an Earthquake D2 hooked up. It has slightly higher xmax and xmech number than the stryke HE15, and costs quite a bit less *(249.00).
