the jl 13w7 has 3.50 in. of excursion. take a look at the pdf file. www.jlaudio.com

The BP1503 has 3.5" excursion and costs 249.00.

The BP1803 has the same excursion, has a much larger cone area, so it will have a much larger Vd.

The HE15 also has a 3.5" p-p excursion.

Do you know what the sensitivity of the W7s is? They don't seem to list it.

you get what you pay for! you can go get a 1000 watt legacy amp very cheap maybe 200 bucks? but do think it will even compare to the 750 watt zapco amp ( retails over 500 bucks)i'm using for my subs? I don't think so!
going by the 1w/1m spl reading of two subs is not an accurate measurement of what the sub will really do, it is only a measurement of what the sub will do at one frequency! not the way to compare two subs.
