I've got all that same info from Barber. My local SCCA group was helping with a race down there not too long ago, but I couldn't make it. Basically, the race was this: BMW Z4...BMW..BMW............................................the rest of the pack. Anyway, I'd love to hit either of those.

Ok, well forget Barber Motorsports Park. Testing is limited to professional or club licensed individuals.
 I got a freaking license!!
Oh well, the one that I have pictured above is avaliable for rent, just not sure when. Would have to call.
Here is a link to their website... TALLADEGA GRAN PRIX RACEWAY
"The track is available for tuning and testing of motorcycles, cars, and go-karts. Interested parties are invited to contact the office by phone or fax to inquire about open dates and rental rates. The track is in operation 52 weeks a year and welcomes newcomers and veterans alike."

Well, they did not have the 2004 schedule up yet, but I would love to do something like that.
OK! How's this... We take our club, NECO & FocalJet... pool a bunch of people together and their money... and rent the track for say two days. Maybe a Friday and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday.
That way, we could have two practice sessions early that morining on the first day. Or late in the afternoon, if on a Friday. Then same thing on Saturday. For all us newbie's, that would give us a chance to hone our skills and take a few pointers from some of the guys that have been there and done that. Have a lite lunch, then qualifing. Let everyone chill for about thrity minutes and then have a nice 25-30 lap race.
Damn!! This would mean I need to get rims and tires! Real tires!!

They allow tuning & such, if you put on something that looks like a race, they might shut us down. Better check on that. For a race, they'll want to have fire, medics & stuff on hand & that runs into bucks. Without it they have liabilities.
We might be allowed timed runs & compare times with each other. We might even be able to have the cars spaced 20 or 30 seconds apart to maximize the track usage and everybody get at least 5 laps in each day - depending on how many show.
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

I love having great ideas! I am down. This will be kick a$$ if we pull this off!
Who needs tires? Use the crappy ones on your car...at least if you wear them down...you can buy some new BETTER ones. Nothing like sliding around corners!

LOL! I hear ya Hector!! Tour, I didn't think of that. Ok, I will call monday and get some more details from the track. After that, I will post here and we will build a "plan of attack". After that, I will post on the other two forums to see what sort of interest we get. I have seriously been thinking of this. For real! I know that my car is not the most modded out there, but damn it would fun... and that is what it is all about... right!! This could also turn into a whole `nother animal, ya know. This could allow for a lot of testing of idea's an such. I am cool with Tour's idea of looking at this as a sort of "open course AutoX!". Why do I all the sudden feel like laughing like Enis in Dukes of Hazzard?

Ok, sounds like a good plan to me, Phil! Are you going to call them in the morning? I reckon you're already asleep and you'll see this in the morning, so then today? Hey Phil, are you going to call TGP today or do you want me to do it? I am one bored little dork right now.
