When I was working n Maui this summer, I found that there were so many other jobs in the tourist area it was insane! The local schools/tech training centers advertise on the radio a ton for degree's in notle managment, ect a grip.
Also, if you're willing to get a roommate at first it can be fairly easy to move to Hawaii..........

So far, everything at the new job is working pretty well. I'm doing sales and sevice on Apple's wonderful product line. Macs don't take much effort to sell, the demonstration of everything you can do is great. Having my PowerBook G4 with me helps, as we generally don't carry any machines in stock. We've been ordering the eMacs because they usually sell the same day they come in. The best part is that I feel valued, the customers appreciate my manner, and best of all I don't have to lie to people every day anymore. Though, I also enjoy the fact that once I've resolved the issue, I don't have to get the customers in touch with telemarketers ala AOL.
I learned a lot while at AOL. It sucked, the company isn't too great, and it was irritating to get in trouble for things like checking to see if I'm being monitored when my computer starts running poorly or treating the customer like a close personal friend. If anyone in the Tampa Bay area is looking to get a mac, or needs work done on their mac, come on down. I work over at Ray's Connecting Point in Clearwater.

I was fired for attendance reasons. In August of 2002, I was in an auto accident where I was pinned between two cars thanks to a drunk driver, and received minor head injuries as well as damage to my legs. I'm arthritic at the age of 21. Because of this, I also have epilepsy, which makes life plenty fun. The constant fear of a seizure, mornings where you do not feel up to going out and driving because you fear that you'll have a seizure behind the wheel. Take this, throw in court dates and doctor's appointments and you can see why I would have attendance issues. My employer felt that it would be best to fire me before I was able to turn in my FMLA papers. (FMLA - Family Medical Leave Act - to protect those with illness/disability from losing their jobs). I rather enjoy the classiness of being let go after working thanksgiving. I would not have thought of doing that to someone, but what can I say.
