Hi, I locked my keys in my Mystique, i could not get it unlocked with a coat hanger. I know this is a stupid question but is there any trick to getting in the car? Any particular place on the door it can open it with a coat hanger? Any help would really be appreciated.
Thanks!

dunno if you have fixed your situation yet, or not... but...
Most doors, with a slim jim, you would shimmy down between the door and the glass, and "hook" a cable, then pull up... well.. out door is different..
take something flat and pry the rubber window strip away to look in to the door panel area... You will see a cable that runs along the door, about even with the door handle... Use something to press that STRAIGHT DOWNWARDS...
I wish I could show you more..
I can take pics of the door, if you would like.. let me know..

Dude... Speaking from personal experience.. I have done it three times.. Yes.. I suck at forgetting my keys are in there.. Once, they were not only in there, but in the ignition.. so my door popper didn't even work! lol Ray There will be a "U" shaped braket about even with the door handle, just above it. If your prodding moves the door handle, you are just about on it, move slightly over and push THAT cable straight down... P.S. NO PICKING ON THE DIRTY CAR, OR THE FILTHY WINDOWS... (pick on my 10 second sloppy line drawing if you like...) HTH Ray

PSS..
If you own a haynes manual.. Check out Chapter 11, Section 14.. illustration 14.3a ("Remove the two bolts") This is a photo of that cable, and as you can see, the metal door handle rod runs underneath it.. You can tell why I was stating that your door handle will move when you are close to it.. That cable (runs horizontaly, [The arrow is located on top of the cable]) is the one you want to press down..
If you DON'T own a haynes manual... GET ONE..
best 14.00 or so you can spend..

HAHAHA. When my sister first bought her 98 Zetec, i broke into it with a coat hanger when she left the keys in the trunk. took me about an hour and i will never let anyone do that to my SVT. call you dealership and they can make you a key. Simple

When I locked my keys in my car a few months ago, fortunately I had AAA to rely on. I watched the guy while he unlocked the car, and he used a weird shaped flat piece of sheet metal, slipping it down between the glass and the weatherstripping, and he pushed and pulled front and rear...rather than up and down, to unlock the door. It took him less than THIRTY SECONDS to get into my car. Gave me a lot of confidence about the security of my car....or ANY car.

I locked my cars in my 'Tour about a month ago.
Took the locksmith over an hour to get into it. He said the 'Tours always gave him problems, but mine was worse because he didn't want to scratch my tint so he was limited in what he could do.
Eventually, he just made a key to fit into it which took a while.
