Last week I finally changed the O2 on my 95 gl. Car starts up nice, doesn't sound like it's gonna die, and no CEL so far. But last night I was driving around and it was running hotter than normal. Usually the needle stays at M unless It's summer and the ac is on in bumper to bumper. Last night though it was on the L, and it was like 50 degrees outside.

Now has this happened to anyone else? Like maybe the temp sensor going bad? The cooling fan didn't kick on at all. heres something to think about. My coolant was changed at jiffy lube about 2k ago. When I checked it a couple of months ago it was low but pressurized. I put in more coolant to bring it to min. Now it's below min again. They checked it at jiffy lube and said no leaks or anything. Theres no sign of any leak, like exhaust, something on the dipstick etc....

Any Ideas? Maybe time to trade 'er in on a 03 Expedition, something big would be nice, being 6' 3" and all.

See i think its the thermostat too, but it just seems odd that it would suddenly go bad.

Mine also has a desire to stay at the max mark now, not slightly above like it used to. The recent lab test on my oil proved no antifreeze contamination, and no smoke.

Sometime I think she's just possessed.

For example, the last two weekends I've used the Jeep and let the Mystique sit in the yard. Both Monday mornings when I go to start it the speedometer climbs to 40 mph while its cranking, then after it starts the air bag light flashes a few times. Then it's fine for the rest of the week.

Maybe it just feels neglected on the weekends.

Have you reset the ecu ? Maybe it still compensates for
the old (degraded) o2 sensor.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I think both
prolonged rich or lean condition causes the engine
running hotter than normal.
