My Archos Recorder 20 is also a 20GB transfer device (basically a 20GB USB external drive with battery) so that's a moot point for the iPod as well.

Plus my Archos has a microphone to record (useful for when you want to sleep through a boring lecture). Did I mention that I paid half of what a 20GB iPod sells for?
