Anyone know of a source other than ford for a rear roll restrictor for a 96 v6 mtx? Preferably aftermarket since the stock one is lame?

Chris, good advise, though I did manage to pick up the rear SVT mount from my local Ford dealer for just under $40. A little less than SP MotorSports. Bill

You mean widen the holes? and put in some "es mount"? I'm needing new front and rear and didn't know you could use SVT mounts for zetec, so could ya just clarify these for me?
Thanks

I dont think/know if they will work for the zetec. But on a non-svt duratec you have to elongate the mounting holes because if you dont you cant bolt it all the way up. The es mount fits right in the bushing part with no problem, its just the mounting holes that need to be adjusted.

Hope that clears it up for ya.

Yes it did, but could someone post a shot of a SVT mount, used or new, like a sideshot of it. That way I can compare. Thanks again.

I know the front mount will work, I believe it even works on autos. Not sure bout the rear.

I tried to install an SVT front roll restrictor into my
'97 Zetec MTX. It does not fit out of the box.
You'd have to drive out the studs from the SVT mount
(the Zetec uses bolts) and enlarge the mounting holes on
the mount (they're cca. half inch mismatch both sides IIRC
with the frame holes, so you have to make the round holes
into slots).

Seeing how much material I would have had to remove from
the mount in order to make the hole large enough, I decided
not to do it, as I don't think its a good idea to weaken the mount
at that spot. It'd also make the mount off-center (unless
drilled perfectly), I don't know how important that is.
The geometry of the mount (position of the center bolt) is
also slightly different, but that's probably within tolerance.

It is certainly possible though, and prolly I'm just
overcautious.

The SVT rear mount is a direct replacement for the stock OEM mount on the Zetec w/MTX. This is the mount that takes the greatest abuse and subsequent "sagging" in my limited experience. I have replaced two rear mounts on 1995 Zetec's with the MTX; I used OEM SVT mounts from the dealership.

Yeah but at 180.00 for the rear one, I will be looking for an eBay one. Or should I just call Jenkins?
