Brad- You know what? I've been looking at germans lately as well. No plans for about 2 years, but I'm leaning to an M3. Brand new of course. I priced one the other day, 2004 Imola Red w/red Napa leather, premium package, 19's, heated seats and a thing or two else. $60,000.

I test drove one of those with my friend this summer...maybe it was '03 I forget. Had the SMG tranny and many options on it. Very nice. $60K was about what my friend is looking at with everything said and done. After seeing what my Audi had in 90 and what new domestics have in '04 I doubt I'll ever go back. My roomates brand new Trailblazer has been back to the dealer twice since she got it. Its maybe 7-8 months old.

My dad's 02 Sierra has been in and out of the shop so much he has a very close relationship with some high ups in GM. My 02 Silverado, bought a month after my dad got his, has only been in the shop for oil changes.

It just depends.

I really hope that I get stationed in the EU so I can sample some Alfa Romeo's, BMW's and Audi's.

I'll third that.

However, I wouldn't get the SMG or the 19" ers. I like my manual tranny thank you, and 18" of wheel is plenty big.

Brad, some of those gadgets and gizmos I like, and some I don't. I usually just think of them as "one more thing to break." Maybe I've been driving domestic cars for too long.
BTW, you're already planning mods (Z rated low profile tires...) Don't even kid yourself, Brad. YOU'RE GOING TO MOD IT.

If I wind up in an area w/ snow, I'm going for an AWD car (when the tour goes). I can't wait to get my Quaife in the 'tour, cause I don't like snow in my car. Wide tires + snow + open diff =

Haha, gulity as charged. I guess I shouldn't tell you about how myself and all the other audiworld forum guys make fun of domestics in some of our posts.....actually, that pretty much what all of our posts are.

Surprisingly domestics and comparisons almost never come up in the threads I've been reading. Right now I'm just trying to find factory replacement parts to get the car in 100% working order. My big issue is that I need new struts, which means I may as well get some they are a 'little' sportier than the stock ones....which means I might need to get some stiffer springs...of course most springs that are stiffer also lower the car....and I can't have any tire rub so I might need some lower profile tires...which are commonly z-rated...but then they'll be to sticky for the turbo so I'll probably have to up the boost....ah crap....I AM going to mod it...dammit!!
