O.K. Here's what you are going to have to do (nobody else do this, as the rest of us already know it's non-interference) Go get yourself some clay or something. Crack open your engine and put it on top of the pistons. Re-attach head and get a few valves to fully open (keep timing belt off) and spin the engine over. Now, take head back off and view the proof of a NON-INTERFERENCE ENGINE!!

If you don't believe FORD, makers of shop manuals, and people on this board with personal experience with this exact situation, well, I really don't know what to tell you other than I'd go ahead and let the shop take care of that timing adjustment for you, too.
