That was your question and it's been answered. The Zetec is of a non-interfering design! Also realize that when you ask a shop for information, their first interest is getting into your wallet, so it's not surprising that they'll make it sound risky to not get that belt changed right away.
Actually I never asked. I was just adding something to a topic I know has been discussed.
I know the general consensus is it's non-interference, but I wouldn't trust that myself quite yet without having seen any proof. I'd rather be careful and save having to rebuild my engine.
And the shop I was talking to already knew I had a new timing belt and we were just discussing it because they are installing my cam gears and I'll be adjusting my timing.
