For some reason, things seemed so much more fun back in those days, when computers were simpler. Back then, getting your computer to do something cool like writing a program to play tones (via the internal speaker) whenever a document was finished printing, for instance, was totally awesome, or having your computer print e-mail that you would dialup and retrieve
, or knowing someone who knows someone that knows the phone number for a dialup BBS that you could download and contribute to threads like this off of, etc.
Now you look around, and there are unlimited possibilities yet the majority of us leave them wasted. Sure, the internet as we know it today has been around for a while, but exactly how long have popular search engines like yahoo and google.com been around for us to easily access that information ? Does anyone even remember ever using gopher ?
I think the old addage, "Too much information is wasted information.." is very true in these days
