I've heard that if you remove your resonator that you might have trouble passing the visable inspection part of the testing. Has anyone had any problems passing smog because of this?

Not true, the resonator has nothing to do with your emissions system and will not affect your smog test in any way.

A lot of the times, the visual inspection is not very visual...as in they don't even look. But I guess it's not worth it to get tagged "test only" for stuff like that. As the others said, resonator has nothing to do with emissions, even mufflers can be missing. The cat is what you need.

Not sure when the previous owner of my SVT did smog and if the Bassani was on it, but the smog on mine is good and I don't have a resinator.

There are also "friendly" smog stations that don't seem to notice headers, lact of cats, intakes, n2o, etc...
