She started showing signs of crankwalk.

Looking back I should kept her and rebuilt the engine, but back then, it wasn't fully understood as to why crankwalk was occuring, and I didn't want to dump money into a new engine and see it happend all over again. It ends up being that the piston oil squirters have a tiny check valves that gum up over time and then they stick open and allow the oil pressure to drop dangerously low at low rpms, which ends causing the crank to eat the thrust bearings.

Thats what I was gonna say....crankwalk. Time for a six bolt swap!!

Chuck calls me Saturday morning and say he's coming over to do an all change and a once-over on the car to make sure she's good for the trip to Vegas.

He shows up and we hop in to go buy the oil...I almost go deaf during the drive to Autozone from both wheel bearings being totally toasted.

So yesterday at 8pm on a frikkin Sunday night I finish working on Chuck's car after working on rkneeshaw's most the day Saturday. AND we started on Chuck's, Saturday afternoon!

$300 later and me being dead tired; we replaced both wheel bearings (what a biatch it was to do those, as his drive shafts were practically rusted to the hubs!!), new metal water pump, new 160°F thermostat, new oil and filter, cleaned the air filter, adjust the suspension and a new battery.

Otherwise I would have LOVED to come to the meet, but I was kidnapped.

I was sick, I called John while he was at the meet. I'm very mad that I missed it. Oh BTW my OBX broke for the third time, after I had it welded and it wasn't the weld that failed!
