What I was saying about more power was taken the wrong way. I simply stated more power has its advantages in that the more headroom you have, the better the sound of your system at all levels. More power will not kill speakers. Over-driven, small amplifiers do. Trying to get a small amplifier to put out big sound will force the amp beyond it's potential. Doing this is definitely not good for speakers. Over-driving an amplifier will heat up speakers faster than high power will. Heat is the number one killer of speakers as dnewma04 stated. The point I was trying to make was simply having more power will give you more clean power to play with. You never know when you may want to upgrade your speakers and having the power to play with would be a greater advantage for future upgrades. If you aren't concerned with future upgrades, then you could simply go with the bare minimum as discussed in prior postings. Flexibility will keep you from having to upgrade so often as your musical tastes change.

Either way, let us know what route you took. Good luck with the install.

Take care,

Ryan
