All you need is:
Amp (2 channel just loses fade control, but usually more power)
Amp wiring kit
Extra RCA cables if going with 4-channel amp
Speaker wire
You run your power and RCAs to the amp, then run the speaker wires back to the speakers. If you plan to use the factory wiring, you'll have to find a place to tap into them, like near thefactory amp to bypass it.
I've seen one kick panel setup in the Contour and I don't think I could drive with them. I'll keep my mids in the doors and the tweets in the defrost vents. Any bonus, I save a lot of work.
