Well, as it goes we went to service our Mazdaspeed Protege at the stealership and I saw a gorgeous 2004 Mazda 6S, 5spd, in that vibrant blue, fully loaded, and, and, and . Okay, you get what I'm saying. Anyway, since I was there and I had my Tour' I decided to see what they were talking about on a trade in just for the heck of it. They came back with about $9,000! I was VERY surprised to say the least! I only owe $5,000 on it (I practically stole it when I bought it). So here's my dilemma, I LOVE MY CAR! But with $4k in equity it's VERY tempting to trade in. I need someone to talk some sense into me. HELP!

Don't do it.....USE THE FORCE!
No, really...they are very nice looking vehicles, although I cannot say much about their performance, because I never test drove one. I did run into a couple on the street and without saying to much more, before Andy or Pete delete my post, we were evenly matched until the upper band. Just my .02, buuuuut it wouldn't be a bad choice. Keep the tour! I know how the new feeling gets you. I almost bought a Red 2004 SRT-4, but it just didn't feel like my tour.

You currently drive a limited production Car and you are thinking about trading it in on a run of the mill Mazda ? at least wait until the MazdaSpeed 6 comes out to trade in
(if you wait that long then something else new will be coming out and I can tell you to wait for that)

of course I think you have more equity in your car than I have in mine and mine is completely paid off

I test drove one when they came out, and really liked it. Its a beautiful car, and the interior just felt like it was far above the SVT. It doesn't push you back in your seat as much as the SVT, but it was still fun to drive. If I hadn't modded my car, and could have afforded it, I would seriously have considered leaving the SVT there and picking one up. I'm glad I didn't though. FWIW, there are an increasing number of Mazda6's reporting rust in door jam/water runoff areas, something to keep an eye out for if you buy one.

They look and ride nice but it stops about there! Save the money and put it towards something you really want. You may be 4k up but in the end you'll still be at least 20k down. Expecially when you are so close to paying it off!

Andy W. The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?
