Ok guys. I have a system ready to go in my SVT. I have. Boston Rally Components (5 1/4) for front. I have Boston rear 5x7s. I have a sony Mobile ES AMP (XM1004GX...I think ). I also have two Jbl 10's (temproray till my Orions show up) I have a JBL 4 channel amp that is going to run these two subs. I have an alpine CDM7854 deck... I have a monster 4 gauge kit and a distribution block and everything else... But NOW the hunt is one fo a "amp jumper"? I need to bypass the factory amp. I have gon to Best buys. Curcit Citys and some other shops and ther there like " I dont have it" Where do I get this thing? What is it called exactly... Everyone says that my factory speakers will sound really bad if its not bypassed. My friend and I installed my deck and bought a premium harness for behind the deck...Did that disable it??
Thanks guys....Car audio is not my thing.
Joe

not sure about the amp bypass but I would like to know, why are you going to use a 4 channel amp to run 2 subs. Your better off buying a good two channel amp and if it's not that powerful you can bridge it to one channel, if the amp is 2 ohm stable. Most likely by doing this you will also draw much less current from your alternator, which is very important.

no it didn't disable it. what u have to do is go behind the glove dept. and then "rig" the wires so that it bypasses the amp. it's not that hard, just time consuming and frustrating trying to figure out the right wires. but beyond that, it's not too difficult.

or if you're going to install of the components that u have mentioned, then just forget about the stupid factory amp. just disconnect it if it makes u feel better. use a deck that has 3 preamp rca connections. 1 for subs, 1 for fronts, 1 for rears. use these to power all of your speakers. that should take care of it. good luck...

I'm not tryin to flame you here, but you said you worked at a car audio shop? All you need is a Ford Premiun Sound harness from Metra. If you are running new speaker wires to every speaker then you actually wont need it since you have amplifiers for every channel and RCA outputs on the radio (your radio wont be wired to any speakers through the factory harness this way.)

Now if you are going to use the factory speaker wire and amplify the speakers with the sony, buy the Premium sound Eliminator, grab the double ended harness out of the bag and cut the wires in the middle (make one harness now two peices). You only need one half (forget which, think the female end) Connect the speaker wires from the sony to the right harness end (check F/R L/R to make sure you wire that correct) and plug it back into the the factory amp's output harness that you just unplugged from the factory amp

If Best Buy or CC or the shop you work at doesnt have this harness somethings very wrong. I would not buy it at CC or Best Buy though, most likely $30

Sorry, my bad, didnt think Orion had home audio products. You'll need the adapter if you plan on using the factory speaker wires, so if you arent planning on routing wires through your doors then yes you'll need the harness.
