When I was at the Dragon, I stayed in Sweetwater. No traffic, good BBQ, easy access to 68 to the Cherohala Skyway & on to the Dragon for the 1/2 day loop.
The Best Western (right off I-75 at Hwy 68) has a breakfast buffet for guests that has EVERYTHING, bacon, eggs, ham, juice, waffles, the whole bit - for FREE!!! Indoor pool & jaccuzi too.
