Thanks for the props, gang! Nuthin but love for ya!

Rara:
Sorry guy. I really did give the Blue Oval guys a try. I went looking for a Mach1 and ended up trying out a used Cobra and a Roush. Neither had the power or composure I was looking for. Both also bottomed out when eased over moderate speed bumps, which the C5 and everything else I tried didn't do. Sorry.
Perry and rest of the Zaino Zombies:
Believe it or not, I'm actually gonna turn over a new leaf with this car and actually pay attention to things like cleanliness and waxing.
In all seriousness - any recommendations on what Zaino steps I should follow with this thing? That reminds me, I need to get a cover for it for when it's to spend some quality garage queen time. The bike will remain the primary commuting tool so this thing doesn't chewed up on the daily grind.
T-RedSVT: Bee-yotch!

JVT: Wrong name, but thanks for playing. Whores aren't the ones that pay to play. Get it straight, ya goober!

(Must be a Slovak in the woodpile. (runs away laughing)) And as always - you are welcome to stay at Casa Beggs anytime.
Bassen: Nope. I've got the carfax and it's an 'merkin car. The readouts can be changed to any of five languages and Imperial or Metric units.
And yes, I've seen some of the mods floating around. I'm more than happy with the power level for now.

Jato: Thanks for the info, that partition is something I do want to get. Is anyone offering those for sale or is it a DYI/Audio installer deal? Yes on the frosted rims. Oh, and as far as the body style goes, I wasn't really hung up on getting any one over the other, this one just turned out to be so clean I had to get it. I might've preferred the hatchback for those interstate keg runs, but I can work around that.

Not sure what I'll do regarding the run flats. The rears are new but the fronts will need replacing before long. I don't have a spare tire on the bike(heh) so I may well do what I do there, which is to carry an assortment of plugging kits and a compressor. The monstrous rear tire would take three days to reinflate, but that's okay.

Speaking of which, I'd better go ahead and sign up for AAA or something.
Shaggy: Thanks - but I'm still not gonna take the bait next time you guys wanna collect performance awards from Tennessee troopers.

BMR: Mad props to you for informing me that the C5 would be a legitimate choice in my price range. I had always assumed I'd have to get an old trashed one to be able to afford it. Thanks to a generous payout from the cugr and my credit union I can actually get a car I've always admired. And I promise I won't let it stay dirty too long.

And yes, a SE-CEG meet sounds good to me, but I'm afraid we'll have to wait for spring at this rate. Thanks also for the exhaust link. I may stick to getting something I can hear in person first. Don't want anything that'll PO the neighbors should I decide to take it work at 5:30am.
Blake: I won't let it stay dirty.

Thanks for the Z06 exhaust tip. That might be the answer for a little more tone without being obnoxious.
todras: I find the C5 easier to shift than the CDW-27. No throttle hang and the clutch takes less effort. With that big honking torque corve and tall gearing, it complements my preference for trundling in a tall gear nicely. The shifter throw is a bit weird, but there are options in that department.
So for the meantime, I'm gonna order up a factory service manual and give the car a good going over. Good time to go ahead and change the tranny and diff fluids. This would be after it's actually parked in my garage, of course.

Cheers!
Giddy Dan
