I finally found a replacement for the totalled cugr that I like. It handles well, has a *great* engine, and a downright cushy ride as well. Plus chicks dig it.

Some might say it's an upgrade. You decide.

I put the deposit down tonight and after the credit union gets through shuffling paperwork, I should be cruising in high style this weekend. Takes longer because they are out of state, but I don't mind because their customer service is great.

Dig it:

(Oh, it's an '00 and I got it for a little more than half what the new ones go for. Depreciation is a wonderful thing.)

P.S. Mod options on this thing are incredible. $550 for a software app that runs on a laptop to completely tune and program the factory engine mgmt module. Awesome! No mods planned for the near term, but ya'll know they'll be on there soon enough.

Is that a Canidamnation car? That cluster looks like it's in KPH....

Congrats on the ride though, it would give my Unobtanium Yellow Z06 a run for it's money

Add a couple coats of Z and a nice LG Motorsports cam package, that thing should really fly then

Or if you're really in the mood, an LSX intake and a set of AFR Mongoose heads.

Welcome to the word of frequent (and expensive) rear tire replacement!

The LS1 responds rather nice to intake and exhaust mods, so you usually get to feel your money actually working for you in most cases. IF you can scrounge $8K up sometime in the future, have Lingenfelter strap a S/C to that puppy and scare the living hell out of yourself every time you flex your right ankle...

If you're a gambling man, dump the run-flats for some regular hi-perf Summer tires when it's time to re-shoe the wheels. The Goodyear run-craps are one of the VERY few complaints I've had with mine.

It looks like you've got frosted rims instead of the high-polish aliminums, right?

I'm banking that you know about them, but www.corvetteforums.com is the best place for info on the C5, bar none.

The hardtop is a true driver's Vette, as it's the lightest of the bunch (sans Z06) and has the most chasis rigidity. If the noise from the trunk bothers you, I know of a number of people who have dropped about a $100 down on a carpeted partition that totally kills the drone that seems to come from the trunk of the hardtops. That's about the only complaint I can remember anyone having about the hardtop.

Enjoy!

Hee-hee, I sent him there based on what you told me.

You're right the FRC is the driver-on-a-budget car of the bunch. The Z06 is great but is easily 10k more and you will never find the difference between the two on the street--legally.

Someone save those pics, becuase that's as clean as that Vette will ever be. Blorton will definitely not fit in with the "typical" Vette crowd. (Thank God, bunch-of-bench-racing-show-and-shine-penii-envying-geezers.)

And, uh, any of you folks see a SE-CEG meet coming up SOON!

Congratulations dood!

Corvettes only run properly when they are clean.
