Well, If I save someone from being towed this winter...this will be worth it! LOL!

Heres the scoop...This past Friday, after our mini-winter storm we had here in the London area, I was driving home on the backroads where i live. As i was going down the road...i came accross what was left of a snow-drifted section of road...i slowed down to about 40km/h and proceeded to go through. Once the first splash of slushy snow was heard...i could feel a dramatic drop in power...the first thing i though was i blew a Timing belt or something, cause i had no battery or oil light come on...but there was next to no power so i was ready for the worst. After it sputtering for about 400meters, the engine finnally stopped. Luckly the poor thing held enough strengh to get me out of the heavy slushed area and safefy to the other side...it brought a tear to my eye (LOL). Anywho...i got out and popped the hood....couldn't see anything out of the ordinary...jumped back in and turned over..but still nothing...so I went to the trunk to get my cell out to call my dad to tow me home, when all i could smell was gas. Sure enough, the clamp that held my fuel filter had broke, and i was now minus a fuel filter.
The lesson in all of this..is it might be a good idea to maybe check the clamp that holds on the fuel filter the next time you change it. When i changed it a few months back, i noticed that it was kind of cheap looking...but never would have dreamed of this happening. Fortunatly, it did not break the fuel line fittings that hold it on when it was ripped off, i was able to just get a new filter, and a new, strong, stainless steel clamp to hold it on lol....

Hope this saves someone from being stuck on the side of a snow/slushed covererd road... Just my 2 cents
