we had a fight over that the other week when it was on ebay the first time. I don't know what the final answer was but it may not be that good, but I honestly do not know

The kit is crap. It uses injectors that are too small to support more than 150whp and has no fuel managment included.

It also uses the stock exhaust manifold with just an adapter plate to bolt the turbo on. The stock manifold is crap and when we did my turbo my Dad found the stock manifold wouldn't work cause it was too low and would interfere with the downpipe, putting it too close to the A/C compressor.

If you don't have an AC compressor that changes things. It's still not worth it. You pay at least $500 for a rebuilt turbo a used crappy intercooler and injectors that are too small.

You're better off making your own adapter plate and finding your own turbo and getting properly sized injectors and custom intercooler. Or buy a stock Focus manifold and get an adapter plate for it. The Focus manifold is a better design than our manifold.

My dad is seriously thinking of just using the stock manifold when he turbo's his Focus. There are several custom turbo'd Foci running around with that kind of setup and they say it's fine. Also the higher placement of the Focus manifold would make routing the downpipe around the AC compressor easier if you had one.

Let me know if your dad makes that adapter plate,, I'd be interested in it. Also can I make pipes out pvc piping? That's all I know how to cut.

OOoooo sweeet, maybe I can mount the turbo above the hood so it'll stay really cool. Or mount it where the a/c compressor was and then it could also serve as the a/c compressor since it'd be in the same spot right?

Do you know for sure that the Zetec in the Cougar is the same as the Contour....there are so many slight differences between the Focus/Contour/ZX2.

The Cougar/Contour/ZX2 Zetec are the same, if they have VCT. Obviously there are some Contiques/ZX2s without VCT, but no Cougars without VCT. The Focus Zetec, though internally basically identical(the block anyway), is externally different enough so most things won't bolt up.

My dad has my blown engine and is using it as a template to make his new turbo setup for his Focus. He's gonna use it to bolt on and fab the turbo so he has as little down time on the car when he actually turbo's it. Doesn't want the Focus down for two months like my Cougar was.

He bought a ZX3 exhaust manifold and oil pan. He said they bolted up perfectly though the exhaust manifold and oil pan are not physically identical to our stock units. The exhaust manifold looks totally different and the oil pan has the exhaust channel in the oposite location.

The engine I bought to replace my blown engine was off a ZX2. It has VCT and fuel injectors that are identical to my Cougar and my Dad's Focus. It was a direct bolt-in.
