Brake vibration and crappy rotors are a Ford problem. I had the same problem with my Tour and have spoken to Mustang owners with the same problem. It would piss me off in a new car, but on a used model it is an easy after-market fix.

I was glad to see that someone had a good experience with a dealer. Little things like that would go a long way towards influencing my decision on where to buy a car.

James,

In response to your plug for LLSOC, I found the site to be a complete waste of money for membership. $35 Per year just to browse the forums. I remember when Brian made some kind of crying post about how he wanted LLSOC to be a "real car club with membership dues and everything". He said he wanted it to be like BMWCCA. Gimme a break!

Here's a clue: BMWCCA is a club for ALL BMW's and enthusiasts. LLSOC is about one model of Lincoln vehicle.

I agree, the LS is a great vehicle, and people that own one probably have a spare $35 laying around. However, I would be interested to see where all those membership fees go. ISP cost isn't that much. If you have been around long enough, you have seen how little time it takes for CEG to come up with close to $2000 in donations.

I particularly didn't like the massive ass kissing that went on between Brian and the old marketing manager for Lincoln. Whoopie! LLSOC is linked on Lincoln's website!

I paid mucho dinaro for my '01 LS8 Sport when I got it new. I browsed around LLSOC for a while until they made me pay. CEG Has me too spoiled to go to a site that demands that I pay for browsing privilidges.

My advice:

1. Get an '03 LS8 Sport. Nav system is really good if it is just one DVD.
2. Save the money you might spend on LLSOC and get some nice scotch (small bottle, but nice )

Obviously I won't change your mind about the LLSOC (or Brian it seems) in one post, but for others, try the site out, if you don't want to pay $35, don't. I obviously found the site and its resources quite useful, you didn't. As to where the heck the $35/year goes, I don't honestly know, but I'm sure Brian would give you a quick breakdown.

With all that stated, you must realize that a little ass kissing does go a long way toward the involvement Lincoln has with the LLSOC national meets.

You really think so? Fat chance for the actual dollar spread.

The ass kissing that went on degraded the quality of the car group as a whole. For some reason, Brian et al, thought their "clubhouse" needed some fancier trim, and the initiation needed to involve money (site navigation sucks, BTW). Nevermind the fact that he was just a puppet for the marketing people, and completely snubbed out a REAL Lincoln LS race car (ever see the Rolex 24?)

None of that crap happens here on CEG. That's because we are ALL car enthusiasts. That includes the people that run the place. Lance doesn't have a hidden agenda, nor is he in it for profit.

So, Hightower, would you suggest another site.

Just Edmunds and BON Forums. I was only on LLSOC for a few months out of the 3 years I had my LS and I survived just fine.

In hind sight, I think a $35 LLSOC membership should have been a freebie if you purchase a $41k car.
