I have been experiencing a weird problem lately. When ever i take off fast and get up to about 4000 rpms or so or just get hard on the gas my car falls flat on its face and loses all power. It doesnt really do it when i'm just driving around slow though too much. I dont drive my car everyday and its been sitting for the past month or so driving occassionally. I recently did the UIM/LIM cleaning to try and fix it to no avail. I did the IMRC check and its fucntioning properly so any ideas of what else it could be? TIA.

Could be clogging CATs or fuel delivery problem.

When is the last time you changed your fuel filter?

I changed it maybe 2 months ago or so. I'm also running a dyno-tuned Apexi SAFC. I am starting to wonder if the programming somehow got messed up when the battery got pulled for the UIM/LIM cleaning. It looks the same though. My car has to close to 85k on it so maybe the cats are going bad. I'll have to check those out. They still smell new though.

I had a prob that related to that, when ever I reved my csvt up to about 4ooo rpms it would make this moose, or blowhorn sound, until I blipped the throttle again. This was due to a prob with the secondaries opening up, and I got it fixed but it may be a similar prob.

If you're sure of the secondaries, check exhaust backpressure and fuel pressure.

If it's not the fuel filter it could still be the pump or intake screen.

i just got through this similar issue. im w/roger on this one. plus he's really helped me so i know he knows whats up. now the question i have is that when you accelerate is it bucking and slow to red line hesitating the whole way? does it do it when the gas is low or at half or all the time? my issue was the pump. if this is the case, BAT sells the pumps for $75. find out what screen you have b/c that was my problem. i had the wrong screen and it made it worse. my car runs great now that ive done this. i dont have a screen on the pump but have the one on the bottom of the pump housing and its working good for now until i can get the right screen. fuel filters probably not it. way to check that is to ride at about 30-35 mph and put it in 5th and floor it. it'll bog down but if it sputters then the gas lines clogged meaning replace the filter. if it just bogs down but no sputter or hesitation then its not your filter. just some thoughts........

Ahh didnt even think of a bad pump. I havent been driving my car regularly enough to notice day to day differences but also havent had more than 1/4 tank in it in a while. I'll go fill her all the way up and add some Berrymans FI cleaner and see if maybe thast helps. I'll also try that 5th gear and floor it. Thanks alot. I'll PM if i have any more questions. Thanks again.
