When you unplug your MAS sensor....is your car suppose to stall out?? I know on a couple of my buddy's car's there car stalls out...but on my car it runs fine...no stalling...idle is the same...I would think that my car would stall but whats so special about this one to make it not stall? lol

Mine idles horribly, if it idles at all, when I unplug the MAF.

It will eventually go into a safe mode. If you keep driving with it unplugged you'll notice.

I see how both scenarios are possible. In either case, when the MAF goes out, the strategy will go into FMEM mode and substitute values for the failed MAF. The difference between the two senarios comes into play due to the adaptive learning algorithm for the MAF.
You see, values are stored in KAM (Keep Alive Memory) for the MAF and this process is called adaptive learning. If your MAF adapted on a really dirty, poorly functioning MAF, the default value substituted for the MAF, may not play all that well. Thus the vehicle will idle poorly or even stall. If the values in KAM are based on a clean MAF then you may not have much of a problem.
The values in KAM are the reasons it is advised to reset the computer after one cleans the MAF. Force it to relearn and store values in KAM using a clean MAF.

Clean your MAF then reset. After a few days, unplug again. If you idle poorly again, you may need a new MAF.
At least, according to fdunford's theory.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

I believe they are MAF (Mas Air Flow) Sensor. But with my car screwed up, (brand new MAF) with it plugged in my car runs horribly! with it unplugged, my car runs great! Tho i do notice High RPM idle Speeds. (I dont get a tachometer...... dang 4 cylinder models) I think if the Computer is screwy, and its a good MAF, with it unplugged the car will work without it, but my car is way to screwy to tell.
