My gauge reads accurately... right after it 'moves'. It tends to move in 1/8 of a tank increments. So it's accurate 1/8 of the time.
I know, about what I get for mileage, so I just try to fill up around 300 miles on the odo when I've got about 1/8-1/4 tank left.
