Certainly possible, but no small undertaking. Expect a lot of cutting and welding . . .

Good luck and let us know how it works out.

What would you call this hybrid...a Mustour? Contang?

Nice that you got someone whi will do all the labor free that definitely makes it worth trying IMO. Good luck.

hmmm

I'd say no just cuz hes converting your rear to a mustang rear...that alone makes it not worth it (if you're talking about mustang body)...

oh ok thats what I was thinking at first but then I also though...contour front end, mustang rear...ewww.

the first rear wheel drive car though...hmmmm. I think that the eventual cost of all this will be way too much. And exactly how good is this guy, is he experienced with this type of work or is he just your everyday mechanic?

Talk with Elky(Mike) he messes with a lot of old cars, Brad Noon, Buskshot (Rick) and Chris Hightower. I am fairly confident you will have their undivided attention.

Good luck

One Bad Ass Contour!!

sosaudio1 and I have talked about this a great deal. Two of my major concerns, which I cannot answer without tons of further research I don't feel like doing (now that deserves a ), is...

1) Would cutting on the underbody, to make room for the tranny and driveshaft, create structurial instabliety? Could this be avoided by someone doing the welding that knows what they are doing?

2) Would this project call for custom subframes? I am sure it would, but since I have never been able to weld, all that sort of still scares the crap out of me.

the big problem with this is if your a mod freak and you have a 5.0 then you will prolly get it to put out unreal number for it being in a tour and then when you drop the hammer off the line you will twist the unibody apart... just my concern
