Alright man...good luck with Duddie! Why bother checking around if your not willing to drive an hour to get the work done for probably nothing. You have to get them done in order to pass inspection in the state so go ahead and spend the $750 at Duddie.

If you re-read my post you will see that I never really asked for alternative dealers (although any recommendations are welcome) but rather was inquiring as to whether or not the dealer that I had my car at (Waltham Ford, not Duddie, which I have said on numerous occasions) was feeding me a line of BS...furthermore, while I understand some might have the luxury to drive an hour + out of their way just to drop their car off for service I would hope that the same people would realize that we are not all in high school and or college and have finiancial responsabilities outside of what kind of toppings one can afford on their pizza or how many 30 packs they can buy on any given weekend, personally I wouldn't care about driving the hour, but would feel like a total asshat for asking my wife to pick me up and have her also follow me for an hour plus commute...after calling two dealers and also ford quality care I am pretty certain now that no dealer would do this at no cost since it isn't covered.

The last time I went to Duddie looking at cars for my fiance, the two outside sales reps were sitting in a brand new Lightning with the engine idling and the A/C cranked. When they approached us, they left the truck idling in the lot....Wouldn't want to be the guy who buys that truck!

Make sure you photograph your car before it goes in...

I would truly like to be enlightened as to why this would harm a car? aren't they designed to idle? it isn't like they were joyriding in it?....

And finally you mention dealers turning down service? honestly show me a post other than when I comment on the poor service at Framingham Ford where I say a dealer is bad...I was simply trying to assess whether or not Waltham was tellnig the truth as I don't really trust any stealership.....for example, even Waltham said they corrected one issue by installing a new blower motor for my heat and it turns out the problem is still there which means I ate $50 for nothing...people should always post stories about dealers and those who do well have nothing to worry about.

thanks
