my car runs like crap now. it takes like 10 cranks to get it to start than when i stop at a light or a stop sign it wants to die. i adjusted the idle and it did not help. i checked for vac leaks and did not find any. one of my motor mounts broke. my car is starting to fall apart. i have been babying it. i guess it dont like that. i guess this is like a vent post. but if you might know what eles i am missing than please let me know. i am not as smart as most of you on here. so i am sure you can find something. so now i have two pos contours at my house. they are both 96 GL mine has 106,000 my sisters has 107,000. time for a new car i think i am going to upgrade to a svt. thanks.

Couple cheap things to check...

Air filter.

Clean the MAF sensor.
Use some electronics cleaner to spray it out GENTLY.

Clean the IAC valve - might be stuck wide open.
Some TB cleaner then a shot of Silicone lube worked for me.

Next, check the coil pack - the Haynes manual has a proceedure & specs. You can pick up a multimeter for less than $10 if you don't have one.

Pick up some new plug wires & fresh plugs.

Find a CEGer in your area & offer to buy the beer this weekend if they help you troubleshoot.

Chime in folks.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

ok the air filter was changed 1,000 miles ago with oil change. and as for the beer i cant i am only 16 or i would.lol. nice thought. today i shut my car off when i got home from work and now it wont start at all. i checked for spark got it. smellt for gas none. so i am leaning towards a bad fuel pump or relay for that matter. now my sisters car that is tooken care of i put new plugs and wires now there is no misfire. as for the slow ness cadalyac converter is pluged up like you would not belive so that is most of her problem. so now i have to take my cuzents car to work tomorrow. 5 speed eagle talon. more fun than my car becuse it is a stick and mine is and automatic. thanks for the help.

when you addjusted the idle what did you do?
