Hi, yes I own a Legacy 1000watt amp. I use it with two 12" JBL Loud and Clear subs. It is NOT as clear and crisp as the Kenwood and SoundDesign Amps are, but for what I use it for it is fine. I have it hooked to a sealed box in my trunk, so the sound clearity really dosen't matter a whole lot, becuase it's muffled anyway by the time it reaches my ears. I have had it for about a year with no problems. I guess it depends what you plan on using it for, I've heard one play tweeters and it sounded as good as any amp to my ears.

Its not that they are horrible amps, they arent the cleanest and most advanced thats for sure. But the real beef with these amps is the crazy claims of 2000 watts x 4 rms and they have a 8ga power input and a 40 amp fuse  Now if you are strapped for cash, they are better than factory, just dont go tooten your own horn sayin that you have gobs of power when you actually have about 400 watts peak

Can I toot my horn? I don't have a Legacy amp. I have an Audiovox I got from Wal-Mart! Much better than the old Jensen one I used to have. Doesn't even burn out it's own wiring. Sounds great now that I'm using 16AWG power wire. Should I use bigger than 22AWG wire for the ground though?

I'm using a cheap Legacy amp for my modest setup and have no desire to replace it.

They are fine as long as you realize what you are getting. As KnuKonceptz said, they aren't terribly advanced. I would expect that 1000 watts to be more like 250 RMS at any kind of reasonable distortion level. The one thing I have to give them credit for is durability. My brothers friend had one in his car that ended up in a puddle on the floor of hte car after a large rain storm. It stayed that way for days. As soon as it was dry, it worked perfectly.

I had a Legacy 500w amp in my old car, and it was great...I put two RF 120a2s in the Tour, and they are actually a lot louder and cleaner...It was a good amp though...for $69 new, it can't be beat...
