Car feels very peppy and responsive (2.0L automatic) with the O/D locked out (3000 RPM at 50 mph). It's a pleasure to drive, but performance sucks when the car is in overdrive (2500 RPM at 65 mph). A slight incline on the highway (an overpass for instance) requires much more throttle and/or the tranny downshifts.

It's though to keep an even speed on the highway while in overdrive (cruise control not working; another issue to be resolved later). Is this normal? Is the car performing as it should? I could always leave the O/D locked out but that will certainly increase engine and transmission wear in the long-term.
