The secondary throttle plate control is different as well. Ray McNary had a late lower intake that he had modified ready to install, but didn't get to it before he passed away. He modified the external linkage to make it compatable with his 95. You may find some info about this if you do a search on the Contour-L list archives.

There is a chance that you could use your old injectors and fuel rail with the new lower intake manifold, but I'm not sure. Evidently you can use that lower on a 98 by swaping the injectors and fuel rail if I remember correctly from what others have posted. I'm sure that someone else will speak up here.

The SVT throttle body is 60 mm and is commonly used on earlier Duratecs, with and without the manifolds. The non SVT throttle body is 54 mm.
