Tip 2:Don't listen to this guy (ever).

Though your engine is most likely not in immediate danger, the CEL can be from very serious things and though it's usually something simple, it can be from something major or something that will soon become a major problem. Mine is on right now, I'm gonna get it fixed this week because IT IS NOT GOOD for the car.

Yeah right buddy I say a lot of good things. More than you do.

Read your damn owners manual it says you need not have your car towed it, and to service at the first oppurunity, it says it wont damage the engine.

As it being not good for the car it doesnt matter either way, come see my neijhbors cars, the thing has been one forever and hasnt run any different the day it came on.

................
The check engine light being on Can hurt the engine and ruin more expensive parts. For Example, a contour is running overdue for a tune-up and the spark plugs are not delivering the full spark that they used to. The check engine light is on indicating it is running rich. If this is ignored you most likely end up replacing all the oxygen sensors and the spark plugs and might even risk plugging the convertors. not to mention the rich running, i feel, would dilute the oil somewhat. So case in point, the check engine light should be Checked out. Just my two cents.

Hi Guys!

I looked for the Oxygen Senso, but couldn't find it. (I don;t know where, or even what a Radiator is, so I also don't know where is between them, but I know now that I have a 16V engine)
So I'm looking now for a mechanic. I called several FORD dealer with a service. The recordholder wanted at least 215$ for it. I also went to other mechanics. One said me they charge for the work only 40$, maybe less. But the sensor costs 150$!!!!!!

I know it costs only 50 at the link, 60 at autozone, but hey are they mad, 150$ for the sensor if it comes from FORD

Also it was told me that when the sensor works slow or even doesn't work any more I could drive along a while, because there wouldn't be a danger to the engine because of the oxygen sensor, maybe a little bit more gas consumption, thats all. So I'll look around a few days or more before I decide.
But what do you think about it?

P.S. If someone has a DigPic of the engine and could show me were the Oxy.Sens. is located I would be very thankfull
