I blew a stock speaker in my 95 mystique and tredSVT gave me one of his to replace it since I cant afford good ones yet, I got it today and noticed two things. they are made of diff material and when I plug in the new one it does NOTHING. in either of the rear doors is does NOTHING. why?!

Hrmm does the other rear speaker play with and without the new speaker installed?

yeah, the other plays in either side, the new one does nothing in any side. my dad is pretty sure its f'd up so I'm looking at new speakers, its down to either pioneer ts-a6865's or blaupunkt PCxi573's

maybe one of the tinsel leads is broken. It would be a great benifit to upgrade them anyways.good luck with it.

FWIW, I have the TS-A6865s in all my doors.

The bass response is much better than stock, plus they sound better right across the board.

If you're still using your stock CD Player/ Tape deck, you won't notice a huge difference (I also changed speakers before I changed decks) but there will be some.

I was glad I had changed my speakers when I got my new head unit!

If you are really cheap, you can pick up a factory 6x8" speaker for $2.45 here.
