Um no. Horsepower: 180 hp Torque: 173 ft-lbs. Gross Weight: 3836 lbs. 0-60 is identical to the SVT due to the power coming full on at 1950 RPM. Line up with an SVT with good drivers and it will be a drivers race but I'd put my $ on the SVT. Just look at the weight of the car alone. Now when you starting modifying the 1.8 it will smoke an SVT.

i dare you to race one. i have 4 friends with them. all of my friends are huge vw fans. its pathetic how bad one of them pulls me. its as fast as a wrx from a roll both stock. and at 5600 feet my friend ran a 14.8 at 96 with just intake and a catback. a 3l hybrid at this altitude wouldnt break a 15.5

Anytime. Come to MI. A buddy just got rid of his SVT for a 20th 1.8. I've riden both of course. He even thinks they would be very close. Some stock SVT's have ran 14.9 with the right driver FWIW. Another bench racing post.

I have two friends with 20th's now and I'd love to have one also. They are very nice looking cars. I think they lack in the handling department slightly, but in the looks department they are right there with the SVT, maybe even a little more refined looking. Good purchase!

well im not bench racing cause ive personally been killed a ton of times. i do live at a high altitude so my car is affected a lot more by alltitude then his but my corrected time slips are still slower then his uncorrected slips. they just have a much broader power range and lots more usable torque. even if the svt did hang he can chip his car for 500 dollars and get an extra 35hp and 50ft/lbs of torque
