This is not the kind of thing that just gets forgotten about! It sad that the victim is the one who feels ashamed. But trying to just put it behind you for fear of that stigma is not going to make it go away. If she doesn't press charges and see this thru to the end she will be living this nightmare for the rest of her life wondering if did or did not do the right thing. Plus if the guy does it again...well look down the track. You can see that train commin! Counseling is a must! You can be there for her but you can't play shrink.
