If you haven't had a fight at all in 6 months, I'm thinking the first one will be that much worse since its been building up. Of course I always look at the bad side with relationships.

If I was your girl in that situation (as far as I can tell, since I never have been in that situation), I would definitely prosecute to the fullest extent of the law, but other than that, I wouldn't know what else to do.
I would also be like her and want to move on with my life and just get over it.
If that was something I experienced, I would not want to relive those memories every day of my life, and I would want to get over such an ordeal as soon as mentally possible.
I can understand your feelings for revenge, but what can you possibly do aside from letting the authorities handle it? Commit a crime yourself by beating the crap out of the guy? don't stoop to his level. Just try to be there for your girl and let her heal. You can't reverse what happened to her, as much as that sucks. The only thing she can do is move on and try to enjoy her life, and be thankful that she still IS alive. that's how I see it anyway.

I waited for over 6 hours in the ER with her. I love her very much, but I have never been so prideful in my life. I want to see him taken down, but I feel like it won't happen. I want what is best for her and me, but I am so angry at the person who did this. What would you do fellas? Peacemistic views only please.

The issue is that it was a friend, her friend more than mine, but I had been mediocre friends with him myself. He was a car guy! WE HUNG OUT MANY TIMES! I mean WTF! They NEVER AT ANY POINT IN TIME DATED, NOTHING! He knew we were together, and I was across the street in my friend Jill's dorm. Anyway, I want her to press charges, and her family doesn't. She is just stuck in the middle, because SHE'S MAD at him, but she just wants to forget about it. Reliving it would be hard, and she doesn't want alot of people to know. Neither do I that is why I am hijacking this thread. SORRY. But becuase I am voicing my opinion so loudly, and her family is too, she is just mad at all the people that love her. I have pushed and so has her family. Whats more is that there is no median for me to get this out. There is no...your gf was raped and now what do you do as a partner forums...I just wish I could get past my revenge thing, but its not going away. She's not even out for revenge, mostly an apology, and perhaps verification from a higher source that what he did was wrong. I think I need those too.

Think seriously about a way to see a counselor. Are you or your girlfriend in school as they might have free services available. These people are trained to deal with such situations and can offer a perspective that might help. Therapy is a "forum;" yours.
And don't let luvinmycontour (Zippy Zetec) get you mad, he's a tool and everyone knows it.

i know what you mean by wanting revenge...my sister was raped a little over one year ago. The guy who raped here was friends with the police....so guess who ended up in the cuffs.....My sister....they interigated her so bad for so long that she finally just wanted it all over with and told the police that he didnt rape her....she got so scared by the investigaters that she didnt know what else to do...well they got her for fileing a false police report. and it also caused her to loose her job, since they went to her work and arrested her there.
It went to court and they have been putting off the case for 6 months now....she has gotten better but in my oppinion, from experience...is all they want to do is forget about it....its a terrible experience for them. I am sure she understands your want to get revenge, but do her the favor (as hard as it might be) and try to forget about it too.
