No matter how you slice it it's still a PITA.

Hmmmm...I find it easiest to drive it up on my ramps, lay on my back, reach up and take it off.

I did the basic same thing as that except no ramps cuz I can get under the car just as easy, but to minimize spillage, removing the wheel was helpful. But because I'm cheap and don't wanna buy a torque wrench or a good ratchet that won't slip when removing lug nuts (the ratchet slips not the socket) I'll probably be reaching under again. But again, because I'm cheap, I've let the car go over 1k miles longer than I normally do between oil changes because wal-mart stopped selling 5qt mobil1 jugs again.
